www.timeout.com index 2022 has given its ranking of the best cities in the world to live in. 

Twenty thousand city dwellers were quizzed on their opinions of their hometown, the questions ranged anywhere from art galleries, restaurants, outdoor activities, and even what their neighbors and community are like.

Based on people's answers, this has given a clearer understanding of what life is like in Cape Town.

These are the survey results on what locals say about their beloved hometown:

Cape Town is an all-round city, with something for everyone, from mountains, beaches, nightlife, culture, great food, and outdoor activities.  The outdoor activities include excellent swimming spots, from Clifton Beach and Camps Bay on the Atlantic Ocean side of South Africa to Muizenberg and Simon's Town on the Indian Ocean on the other side of the continent.  

Added to that splendor is stunning Table Mountain with its energetic hiking, and other hiking opportunities like Newlands Forest, Cecilia Forest, and Kirstenbosch Garden.  Few cities are better equipped for outdoor enthusiasts.  If sports and outdoor activities aren't for you, then there is the city with its variety of cultures and foods, vibey nightlife and expressive art scene, you'll be in heaven.  Cape Town is a perfect place to be all the whole year round.

•  The Mother City is described as beautiful by 93% of Capetonians, the second highest rate in the world.
•  The variety of activities in the city was also highly rated by 93%.
•  More than anywhere else in the world, Cape Town is easy to relax in, 87% agreed.
